Saskia Weyts was born in Bruges in 1964. They have lived and worked in Brussels, Mérigny, France and Sobral da Lagoa, Portugal.

Weyts has their Masters of painting from the academy of fine arts, Belgium and is a professor of drawing.

‘By returning to the invisible source, facing nature and facing oneself in the silence of the studio, the artist is able to reveal in his work the living creative power that acts in everything, in him and everyone. This return to the essential goes through asceticism and a certain ritual.

I explore the creative potentiality of my actions. I look for gestures that translate my feelings, my affects. The right gesture comes from a harmony between body and mind, which comes from an even deeper harmony between our mind and the Creative Spirit.’
